After Gianni Versace’s untimely death in 1997, his sister, Donatella Versace, took over the role of Creative Director of the Versace Group. Though under new management, Versace has continued to own the catwalk and the red carpet and has branched into new areas of design. In 2002, Versace gained significant media attention for Jennifer Lopez’s “jungle dress” worn to the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards. The Versace Group also collaborated with Lamborghini in 2006 to design the interior for the limited Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 VERSACE; AgustaWestland in 2008 to create the luxury helicopter, AW109 Grand Versace VIP; and H&M in 2015 for a new clothing and bedding collection.
